Depression and Anxiety
For the past nine years I and have been affiliated with the Anxiety Disorders Clinic in Lake Oswego. My area of specialty is the treatment of anxiety disorders including: generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, panic, separation anxiety, and specific phobias. I have extensive experience and training in treating obsessive compulsive disorder in children, adults, and adolescents. I also have considerable experience treating depession.
The primary treatment appraoches I utilize to treat anxiety and depression are cognitive behavioral therapy and Acceptance and Committment Therapy. Both approaches l) help individuals recognize the interplay of feelings, thoughts and beliefs, and behavior, 2) provide tools and skills that can improve mood and promote positive behavioral change 3) are proven to be effective in treating these conditions.

If you are experiencing marital difficulties or you are having struggles with your children, I can provide guidance and tools to help you get your relationships on track, or to help you deal with changes and transitions you may decide to make. Beginning with my experience as an adoption specialist several years ago, I have been providing therapy over the years to families of various types including:

One of my areas of interest is helping individuals adjust to changes in life circumstances. This may involve providing assistance with values clarification, goal setting, acquiring coping skills, and learning how to cope with grief and loss.
